Named by Schwab in 1923. Farrar, John Percy (An authority on the Alps, John Farrar became president of the Alpine Club in 1917.) Unofficial name.

First ascended in 1927 by Alfred J. Ostheimer, guided by Hans Fuhrer. Journal reference CAJ 16-34.


Other Information

Alfred J. Ostheimer, who made the first ascent of Mount Farrar in 1927, wrote of the mountain, "Mount Farrar is a tememdous block, from the summit of which towering precipices on east, west, and south drop abruptly to the base of the mountain."
