Located south of Biscuitboard Creek, Wall Lake, and Forum Lake at the headwaters of Akamina Creek; north of the headwaters of Kintla Creek; west of Cameron Lake. Waterton Park, Major headwater Flathead River.

Named by George M. Dawson in 1886. Akamina is a native word meaning "high bench land." Official name.

| Easy with one moderate step. A bit of bush, a little scrambling and oodles of pleasant ridge walking above tree line sum up this loop. The trip starts and ends in Alberta, but the finest portion crosses briefly into British Columbia. Impressive peaks in nearby Glacier Park, Montana, are your companions.
